voice to the culture

 
Saint Athanasius of Alexandria was a man of great courage and faithfulness
 
such a man is hard to come by in these days of weak convictions and indifferent attitudes towards the suffering of others.
 
there was a point in his life as he faced the false teaching of his day about the deity of Christ, that no one seemed to agree with his position. an advisor came to him and gave him an honest assestment of his uphill battle.
 
he told Athanasius that "the bishops are against you, the priests are against you, the church is against you, the emperor is against you, THE WHOLE WORLD IS AGAINST YOU".
 
Athanasius replied "then I AM AGAINIST THE WHOLE WORLD".
 
This gave rise to the expression "Athanasius contra mundum" or "Athanasius against the world".
 
it is time for those who possess the truth not to be ashamed of it. we must not give people half the information and hope they make the correct decision. speak the truth in the love - an eternal virture.
